Questions

Straight answers, starting with your money.

Can Pathfinder move or withdraw my money?

No. Your money and your securities stay at your broker, in your name. The connection you grant Pathfinder lets it send the orders you approve and read your positions. It cannot withdraw, transfer, or move money or securities.

Does Pathfinder trade for me?

No. Every order is yours. You place it at your broker yourself, or you click to have Pathfinder send it to your own account. Pathfinder never opens, closes, or resizes a position on its own. The only action it takes on its own is keeping a protective stop on a position you opened, and raising it under its rules.

What happens to my stop after I buy?

Twice each trading day, around 9:35 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Eastern, Pathfinder checks that a protective stop is resting at your broker. It may raise that stop under its written rules. It never lowers a stop and never moves a target. Positions are not watched continuously between those checks.

What does it cost?

$45 a month or $450 a year. One level, and every member gets every feature. Pathfinder receives nothing from your trades; your broker's own commissions and fees are yours to pay. During the beta, membership is provided at no charge to invited members.

How do brokers work with Pathfinder?

Paper trading runs on a broker paper account. For live trading you use your own brokerage account through the connections Pathfinder supports. Your money stays at your broker, in your name, and the features available depend on what your broker supports.

Can I practice before using real money?

Yes. Start on a paper account, with the same rules Pathfinder applies to live accounts, and move to live only when you choose.

What is APEX?

APEX is Pathfinder's assistant, built on Claude by Anthropic, a large language model (a type of artificial intelligence). It explains what the platform found, how the method works, and how markets behave, in plain language. It does not recommend, and it cannot place or change an order. Like any artificial intelligence, it can be wrong.

What does “R” mean?

R measures a trade against the risk you planned for it. Planning to risk one R and gaining two R means you made twice what you put at risk. It lets a win and a loss sit on the same ruler, whatever the account size.

Is Pathfinder a registered investment adviser?

Not yet. Pathfinder Investments is preparing its registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Until that registration is effective, Pathfinder is not a registered investment adviser.

What if Pathfinder goes offline?

Your positions and any stop resting at your broker stay at your broker. Pathfinder's checks would pause until service returns, so you remain responsible for watching your own account.

Who is behind Pathfinder?

Pathfinder Investments Group, LLC, of Wendell, North Carolina, founded by Michael S. Griffith, a Veteran who built it first for his own small account.
